Deskripsi Analisis Kebutuhan: Pengembangan Media Pembelajaran Berbasis Animated Demonstrations pada Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan dan Teknologi

Abstract

Studi penelitian pendahuluan ini membahas tentang kebutuhan media pembelajaran bagi guru dan siswa di Sekolah menengah Kejuruan. Studi penelitian pendahuluan ini terdiri atas studi lapangan dan studi literatur. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah ; 1) Mengetahui kebutuhan Guru akan media pembelajaran yang sesuai dan dapat membantu siswa memahami konsep Jaringan Komputer; 2) kendala yang dihadapi oleh guru di lapangan selama mengajarkan materi Jaringan Komputer; 3) untuk mengetahui apa media pembelajaran yang perlu dikembangkan pada Jaringan Komputer. Model dalam penelitian ini adalah model 4D (empat-D) yang dikembangkan oleh S. Thiagarajan et al. Ada empat langkah dalam model 4D (empat-D) ini, adalah sebagai berikut: define (define phase), desain (fase desain), kembangkan (fase pengembangan), dessiminate (fase dessiminate). Penilaian kebutuhan dilakukan pada fase define. Penilaian kebutuhan dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen penilaian kebutuhan dalam bentuk quisionaire, melalui observasi dan wawancara. Hasil dari penelitian ini diperoleh bahwa: 1) Guru dan siswa sudah memanfaatkan media dalam pembelajaran, tetapi dalam pelaksanaannya masih sering menggunakan model ceramah,diskusi dan penugasan; 2) konsep materi jaringan dasar merupakan material yang sulit untuk disampaikan, khususnya pada material abstrak. Guru membutuhkan media pembelajaran untuk visualisasi dan dapat mendemonstrasikan materi, serta guru dapat mengajar secara efektif; 3) media pembelajaran yang perlu dikembangkan pada Jaringan Komputer adalah media pembelajaran berbasis animated demonstration, sehingga siswa dapat lebih mudah memahami materi pembelajaran menggunakan media pembelajaran berbasis animated demonstration.
